Ioannis Arapoglou

Ioannis Arapoglou is heading the Corporate Finance Department of Copelouzos Group. Among other projects, he was involved in the negotiations for the circa 1 billion project financing for the 14 Greek Regional Airports that were successfully undertaken by Fraport Greece, a joint venture of Copelouzos Group and Fraport AG. Copelouzos Group is a diversified organization with interests in natural gas, electricity, RES, infrastructure and concession investments (airports, marinas, exhibition & conference centers), and real estate. Prior to joining Copelouzos Group, Ioannis worked as a senior equity research analyst for Piraeus Securities, the brokerage arm of Piraeus Bank, while lecturing Investment Banking at Alba Graduate Business School. He holds a BSc in Business Administration from the American College of Greece, Deree and an MBA from the University of Bath, School of Management.

Sabina Dziurman

Regional Head of Greece & Cyprus, EBRD - Athens

Ms Dziurman started working in Greece in 1979 in the tourism sector, changing careers following an MBA. Her first contract with the EBRD was in 1991, setting up a training course for privatisation officials in St Petersburg, before becoming an expert for the development of viable commercial banking sectors in former USSR countries. She spent 12 years as a freelance consultant focussing on banking and SME credit lines for the EBRD, but also for DFID and World Bank. Becoming a staff member of EBRD in 2004, she initially joined the Group for Small Business and later the Financial Institutions Group. She successfully led landmark transactions such as the rescue of Latvia’s Parex Bank and the EBRD’s first investment in Cyprus in the Bank of Cyprus. Ms. Dziurman was appointed Director for Greece and Cyprus in July 2015 based in Athens. A British citizen, she was educated at London University and London Business School.

Theodore Fessas

Chairman, SEV

Theodore Fessas, Chairman of Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) & Chairman, major shareholder & founder of Quest Holdings (QH). QH established in 1981 (as Info-Quest), listed in Athens Stock Exchange (1998) & owns leading Greek companies in the sectors of IT, Payment Transactions, Parcel Delivery & Renewable Energy (cons.annual turnover circa € 400 m). 

He is the Chairman of SEV since May 2014 after he served for many years as member of BoD & the Executive Committee. He is the Honorary President of the Fed.of Hellenic IT & Comm.Enterprises (SEPE) and member of the BoD of Int’l Chamber of Commerce (ICC-Hellas) and the Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research (IOBE). He holds Mechanical & Electrical Engg diploma-National Technical University of Athens & MSc in Thermodynamics- University of Birmingham.

George Handjinicolaou

George Handjinicolaou is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Piraeus Bank Group. He received his PhD in Finance from the Graduate School of Business at NYU, where he also earned his MBA, and holds a BS degree from the Law School at the University of Athens, Greece. His career in the financial services sector spans 33 years, the vast majority of which was spent at global financial institutions based in London and NY. He held the position of Deputy CEO of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) in London for 7 years, where he was also a member of the BoD. Previously and for almost 20 years, he held senior management positions in the derivatives and fixed income markets at several global financial institutions including Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and UBS in London and NY, while he started his career at the World Bank in Washington, DC.

Evangelos Mytilineos

Mr. Mytilineos is the Chairman & Managing Director of MYTILINEOS HOLDINGS S.A.. He holds a BSc (University of Athens) & a MSc (LSE) in Economics. He took over the family business of metal & steel product manufacturers & established MYTILINEOS Holdings Group, a private group in Power & Gas, Metallurgy & Mining & EPC Projects. The Group acquired

  • METKA, an internationally established EPC Contractor & industrial manufacturing group with dynamic EPC portfolio in Europe, Middle East & Africa

  • Aluminium of Greece,the largest fully vertically integrated producer of alumina & aluminium in Europe.

    MYTILINEOS Holdings is the 2nd largest power producer in Greece, with Protergia, which is active in the retail energy market. The Group with MOTOR OIL established M&M Gas S.A., which engages in the supply & trading of natural gas.

Dimitri Papadimitriou

Minister of Economy and Development, EBRD Governor, Greece

Dimitri B. Papadimitriou is the Minister of Economy and evelopment of the Hellenic Republic.Prior to his appointment he was President of the Levy Economics Institute of Bard College since 1986 and Executive Vice President and Jerome Levy Professor of Economics at Bard College since 1977. He was Distinguished Scholar at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Vice Chairman of the Trade Deficit Review Commission of the United States Congress, Adjunct Professor at the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research and Executive Vice-President, as well as Secretary and Treasurer at the William Penn Life Insurance Company of New York. He is a member of the Editorial Boards of the Bulletin of Political Economy, Challenge and Journal of Economic Analysis and regular columnist in American and Greek newspapers and has written over one hundred papers on economics and authored/co-authored 15 books

 

Alain Pilloux

Vice President, Banking, EBRD

Alain Pilloux has been Vice President, Banking since 15 November 2016. He has overall responsibility for the effective delivery of the Bank’s investment and advisory activities in its 36 countries of operations, as well as contributing to the delivery of policy engagement activities. He is a member of the Executive Committee and other leadership fora. Prior to that, Mr. Pilloux served as Acting Vice President for Policy & Partnerships where he was responsible inter alia for coordinating the Bank’s strategies and policy engagement, mobilizing and managing multilateral and bilateral donor funding and overseeing the EBRD’s engagement with key external partners. Education: Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Ecole de L'Arme Blindee-Cavalerie, Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, Ecole Nationale d'Administration.

Mathios Rigas

Chairman & CEO, Energean Oil & Gas SA

Mr. Rigas is founding shareholder and serves as the Chairman & CEO of Energean Group. Mr. Rigas is a Petroleum Engineer with a combination of oil & gas and investment banking experience.

Prior to setting Energean, Mr. Rigas spent 18 years in investment banking and private equity investments. Between 2001-2001, he served as the Managing Partner of Capital Connect Venture Managers, a private equity fund in Greece with investments in innovative enterprises. From 1999 until 2001, he was in charge of Pireus Bank's Shipping Investment Banking division. Prior to that (1993-1999) he was Vice President of Energy & Project Finance at Chase Manhattan Bank in London where he arranged oil & gas financings in excess of $5 billion. He holds a degree in Mining & Metallurgical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an MSc/DIC degree in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College, London.
