Paweł Chorąży has been a civil servant since 2001, working in the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and then in the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development. He was involved in issues relating to the World Bank’s Rural Development Program and the PHARE pre-accession funds. From 2004, he was the Director of the ESF Department. He was responsible for negotiations with the European Commission and the supervision of programs co-financed by the ESF from the beginning of Polish membership in the EU. HE coordinated projects supported under the European Globalization Adjustment Fund and collaboration under the OECD Program on Local Economic and Employment Development.

Piotr Nowak

Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Finance

Graduate of the Military Technical Academy in Warsaw and Warsaw School of Economics. He graduated from doctoral studies at the Warsaw School of Economics and an Executive MBA program at the Warsaw University of Technology. He holds a Certificate in Quantitative Finance. Associated with financial markets since 2004 working inter alia as foreign exchange dealer at PKO BP and a trader at CALYON Corporate & Investment Bank. From 2006 to 2010 he was Vice-President of a London hedge fund belonging to the group Swiss Re, dealing with Global Macro strategy (debt instruments, indices, derivatives and currencies of all emerging markets). He worked as a prop trader at Espirito Santo Investment Bank of Poland and at PKO TFI as deputy director of the department of management of debt securities' portfolio. In 2015 he worked as an economic expert at the President's Office, before being appointed as Undersecretary of State in. the Ministry of Finance in December 2015

Paweł Samecki

Mr Samecki received his Ph.D. in 1988. He headed several government offices (1991-1997), and was Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Finance (1997-1998) and Undersecretary of State at the Office of the Committee for European Integration (1998-2002). He was Director of the International Department at NBP (2003) and served as Member of the Management Board of NBP (2004-2009). He was Commissioner for Regional Policy at the European Commission (2009-2010). He returned to NBP (2010) and took up his position as Director of the International Department at NBP (2011). In 2014, he was re-appointed Member of the Management Board of NBP.

Piotr Wiesiołek

Vice President, First Deputy Director, Narodowy Bank Polski

Mr Wiesiołek graduated from the Catholic University of Lublin. He completed post-graduate studies - Money and Banking - at the University of Warsaw. He started his career in banking in 1992 as securities analyst. He is a specialist in assets management, having both theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in European and US commercial banks, e.g. Deutsche Bank AG and JP Morgan, as well as several central banks. He served as vice president in several commercial banks as well as Bank Ochrony Środowiska (from 2001). In 2008, he was appointed Member of the Management Board of NBP and NBP Vice President, First Deputy President and reappointed to this post in 2014.

Grzegorz Zielinski

Regional Director, Poland and the Baltics, EBRD

He heads the Bank's Resident Office in Warsaw and oversees all operations of EBRD in Poland and the Baltic States. Mr Zieliński joined EBRD in 1998, from Ernst & Young, and became a banker in the Power, Energy & Utilities team in 2001. He had been responsible for the Bank's activities in the power sector in Poland and subsequently assumed the Central Europe regional responsibility for the power sector. Mr Zieliński has a degree in Business/Economics from the University of Gdansk, Poland, and a post-graduate certificate in European Integration from the EC Research Institute. He is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
